Περίληψη

Ο σκοπός της παρούσας έρευνας ήταν να εξετάσει τον ρόλο του αθλητισμού ως μέσο προώθησης της αλληλεπίδρασης μεταξύ ατόμων και ομάδων με διαφορετικό πολιτισμικό υπόβαθρο. Παράλληλα, παρουσιάζονται ευρήματα από τρεις έρευνες που αφορούν τη συμβολή του αθλητικού περιβάλλοντος στη διαμόρφωση στάσεων των μελών της κοινωνίας υποδοχής απέναντι στους εισερχόμενους πληθυσμούς. Οι έρευνες που εξετάστηκαν ήταν ποσοτικές, συγχρονικές και συμμετείχαν σ αυτές νεαροί Έλληνες αθλητές/τριες ατομικών και ομαδικών αθλημάτων. Σκοπός των ερευνών ήταν να διερευνήσει το ρόλο του αθλητικού περιβάλλοντος και της συμπεριφοράς που προωθεί ο προπονητής/τρια στη διαμόρφωση στάσεων απέναντι στον επιπολιτισμό των εισερχόμενων πληθυσμών. Οι νεαροί αθλητές/τριες συμπλήρωσαν ερωτηματολόγια που αξιολογούσαν τις στάσεις τους απέναντι στον επιπολιτισμό μεταναστών και προσφύγων, καθώς και ερωτηματολόγια που αφορούν το αθλητικό περιβάλλον. Με βάση τα αποτελέσματα, το ενδυναμωτικό περιβάλλον παρακίνησης που είναι προσανατολισμένο στη μάθηση και υποστηρίζει τις βασικές ψυχολογικές ανάγκες των αθλητών καθώς και η προώθηση προκοινωνικών συμπεριφορών από τους προπονητές, μπορούν να συμβάλλουν στη διαμόρφωση θετικών στάσεων απέναντι στους εισερχόμενους πληθυσμούς, που ευνοούν την ένταξη και την πολυπολιτισμικότητα.
