PRIMMARY MESENCHYMAL TUMOURS OF ΤΗΕ PERITONEAL CAVITY
Abstract
Two primmary mesenchymal tumors of the peritoneal cavity and the retroperitoneal space are described. These tumours are exceedingly rare and often present a diagnostic problem. The patients, aged 41 and 52 years, presented with acute abdominal pain for which they were operated on. The diagnosis was fibrosarcoma for the first patient and round call liposarcoma for the second; it was made histologically after radical surgical excision. Postoperatively, both patients were treated with chemotherapy, but only the patient with the liposarcoma had a satisfactory outcome.References
