EPILEPTIC SEIZURES, AFFECTIVE AND BEHAVIOURAL DISORDERS ΙΝ PATIENTS WITH CAVUM SEPTI PELLUCIDI
Abstract
Twenty three patients with cavum septi pellucidi (C.S.P.) were found among 785 patients who had received computerized tomographic scanning in Neurologic Clinic of General Hospital of Alexandroupolis. A Clinical evaluation of these patients was made to examine incidence of epileptic attacks and affective disorders in patients with C.S.P. The results obtained were as follows: 1) Ιncidence of C.S.P. was 2,9% of the patients (23 patients among 785). Sex ratio was M:F 2,28:1,0. 2) Epileptic attacks there were in 17,39% of the patients with C.S.P. (4 patients among 23). Frequency of epileptic attacks was significantly higher as compared with the patients without C.S.P. 3) Affective disorders with aggessive behaviour there were in 13,04% of the patients with C.S.P. (3 patients among 23). 4). 2 patients among 23 were alcoolics (8,6%). 5) E.Ε.G. abnormalities no specific to C.S.P. were found in 2 among 4 patients with epileptic attacks (50%).References
