BLEEDING AS Α POSTOPERATIVE COMPLICATION AFTER CHOLOPEPTIC ANASTOMOSES
Abstract
The retrospective study deals with bleeding from upper gastrointestinal tract as a postoperative complication after cholo-peptic anastomoses. The study underlines this complication as a result of gastric hypersecretion which is present after this kind of operations. The study concerns 54 patients (23 males-31 females) who were treated with all kinds of anastomoses. Ιn 28 of them there was found malignancy. 5 out of 54 patients (9.25%) had a bleeding in the early post-op period. 2 out of these 5 died because of bleeding, 1 of them underwent an operation because of bleeding. Ιn all patients (5) malignancy was found as a cause of the obstructive jaundice. Etiology and prevention of this complication are discussed.References
