EVALUATION OF ΤΗΕ CRITERIA FOR ΤΗΕ DIAGNOSIS OF ΤΗΕ REFRACTORY ΑΝΑΕΜΙΑ (RA)
Abstract
We studied sixteen patients with the primary diagnosis of refractory anaemia for the evaluation of the criteria we usually use. Due to the course of the disease we distinguished two groups. Group A: Nine patients with «true» refractory anaemia and group Β: seven patients who developed a neoplasia. In the group A, we found micro, Dysmegakocryocytes and agranulocytosis of all patients, and sixty-six percent neutropenia or thrombocytopenia. Ιn the group Β we found one hundrend percent agranulocytes but none of them had Dysmegakarycytes, neutropenia or thrombocytopenia. Analysing the above findings we conclude that a) for the certain diagnosis of Refractory anaemia other criteria must exist like Dysmegakarnogytes, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and b) sometimes the neoplosia may be presented as Refractory anaemia with displastic figures of the red and white cell series.References
