MAGNETOENCEPHALOGRAPHIC INVESTIGATION OF POST-TRAUMATIC EPILEPSIES
Abstract
Ιn the present study we examined with the biomagnetometer SQUID ten subjects with clinical post-traumatic epilepsy in order to investigate its pathology. In the isocontour mapping of equal spectral amplitudes representation for the frequency band (2-7 Hz), in all cases examined showed wish lines concentration of spectral amplitutes which are completely related with the pathology in each patient. The above mapping representation was also compared with the corresponding ones from physiological subjects which do not oppear such dense spectral concentrations. Ιn conclusion, since the magnetoencephalography determines with wish accuracy the position and the magnitude of the posttraumatic epilepsies, we may say that it is a very useful non invasive diagnostic technique for investigating the pathology of such cases.References
