ΤΗΕ ROLE OF INTRAOPERATIVE CHOLANGIOGRAPHY ΙΝ PREVENTION OF RESIDVAL STONES AND IATROGENIC DAMAGES OF BILE DUCTS
Abstract
Complications after cholocystectomy can be avoided by a careful operative checking. The most common causes are residual stones, other diseases of the area and iatrogenic damages. Ιn a total of 86 patients who underwent cholocystectomy, we expanded the operation in 16 of them, due to the findings of operative cholangiography, which is now performed in every single cholocystectomy in our department. The four patients with residival stones were treated as following: 3 patients with reoperation, 1 with heparine infusion, 1 with endoscopic extraction. In the other one case with upper incision of the common bile duct a cholopeptic anastomosis was performed.References
