CEFTAZIDIME ΙΝ URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS
Abstract
Our experience of activity and effective of ceftazidime against pseudomonas and other organismous with resistant to the others antibiotics. Our series included 20 patients. Seventeen of the 20 patients infected during the Hospitalization after operation and 3 were outpatients with clinically symtomas from urinary tract system and positive culture. Bacteria isolated before treatment were pseudomonas in 9 patients, Ε. Colli in 6 patients, klebsiella in 3 and protevs mirabillis in 1 patients. At the end of 7 days post-treatment an urine culture was taken. Α second culture was taken 4 weeks later. All patients clinically showed improvement and the post - treatment cultures were negative in 90%. From our results we can conclude that ceftazidime is effective and savety antibiotics for treatment in urinary tract infections especially those due to Pseudomonas and others organismous with resistant to the other antibiotics.References
