Abstract

Ten episodes of prolonged fetal deceleration were observed in the course of monitored labors. The prolonged fetal deceleration were persisting 2 or more miniutes with a decrease in FHR of 30 bpm or greater. The mean fetal ΡΗ during the 5 minutes following the deceleration was significantly less than the mean ΡΗ obtained 30 minutes after the deceleration. Vaginal delivery occures in 9 patients and 1 cesarean section was performed in 9 patients and 1 cesarean section was performed because deceleration persisted.
