HOW RESPONSIBLE IS THE GALLBLADDER MICROFLORA ΙΝ ΤΗΕ DEVELOPMENT OF POSTOPERATIVE INTRA-ABDOMINAL INFLAMMATION AFTER CHOLECYSTECTOMY?

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the relationship between the gallbladder microflora of the intra-abdominal inflammation after cholecystectomy. Ιn the 1st Surgical Unit of EVANGELISMOS Generel Hospital we compair the results of the microflora of the bile from 500 patients who underwent cholecystectomy and the microflora of the intra-abdominal inflammation which was developed postoperatively in 36 patients. We had the following results: Ιn 6 patients the same microbs were found, in 22 patients the bile was sterile and in the rest 8 patients different microbic floras were caltured. Ιn this paper we discuss our results.
