Abstract

One case where the maternal electrocardiogram was transmitted through a dead fetus to the fetal electrocardiogram is presented and discussed. lnability to auscultate the fetal heart sounds during labor, in addition to the subjective complaint of the mother of absent fetal movements, should alert the physician to a fetal death despite the display of an electrocardiogram.
