BENIGN MECHANICAL OBSTRUCTION OF ΤΗΕ COMMON BILE DUCT OR MIRIZZI SYNDROME?
Abstract
During the last 7 years 711 operations in bile ducts were performed. 80 out of 711 were treated for obstructive jaundice. 36 out of 80 patients had a benign cause (stones). 2 out of 36 patients during the exploration of common bile duct nothing found but a big stone in Hartman pouch of the gallbladder which caused an inflammation and an edema which, in turn, caused a mechanical obstruction in common bile duct. Obstructive jaundice was not a light one, bilirubin >3 gr%.References
