GESTATION AND LABOUR RISKS IN NULLIPAROUS ADOLESCENTS
Abstract
lt is common knowledge that adolescent nulliparous pregnant women comprise a special group of the high risk pregnancies. That's why we decided in ουr clinic to investigate the frequency of the complications of pregnancy and labour in adolescents. The risks were examined and assessed in 153 pregnant adoloscents, aged between 12 and 17 from 1-1-86 to 31-12-93. The gestational age ranged between 27 and 42 weeks. The results, which were estimated and compared with those from 6.279 pregnant women, aged between 18 and 42 and whose gestational age was the same, showed that there were not any significant differences as concerns the frequency and the kind of the complications between the two groups. In conclusion we wonder if pregnancy in the adoloscence belongs, nowadays, to the high-risk pregnancies.References
