Περίληψη

Σκοπός της παρούσας συγχρονικής μελέτης ήταν να αξιολογηθεί η επίδραση της Covid-19 στη συμμετοχή ατόμων τρίτης ηλικίας σε οργανωμένα προγράμματα άσκησης και οι διαφορές μεταξύ συμμετεχόντων και μη ως προς την εμφάνιση καταθλιπτικών συμπτωμάτων (ΚΣ) και την ποιότητα Ζωής (ΠΖ) τον πρώτο χρόνο επαναλειτουργίας δομών Κ.Α.Π.Η. κατά την ύφεση της πανδημίας COVID-19. Το δείγμα αποτέλεσαν 102 μέλη του 2ου Κ.Α.Π.Η. Κομοτηνής, Μ.Ο. ηλικίας 73.91±6.34 έτη (γυναίκες 79.40%). Χρησιμοποιήθηκαν επιταχυνσιόμετρα για την αξιολόγηση της Φυσικής Δραστηριότητας (ΦΔ), ερωτηματολόγια συλλογής δημογραφικών στοιχείων, αξιολόγησης ΚΣ (Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS)–15), ποιότητας ζωής (ΠΖ) (WHO-QOL-BREF) και αρχεία καταγραφής του Κ.Α.Π.Η. Χρησιμοποιήθηκαν t‑test για ανεξάρτητα δείγματα και McNemar’s test. Τα επίπεδα της ΦΔ των μελών που μετρήθηκαν με επιταχυνσιόμετρα ήταν στο 90.2% επαρκή βάσει κριτηρίων του Παγκόσμιου Οργανισμού Υγείας. Η συμμετοχή σε προγράμματα άσκησης ήταν σημαντικά μειωμένη σε σχέση με την προ-πανδημίας. Η διαφορά ως προς την ΠΖ και την εμφάνιση ΚΣ ανάμεσα στις ομάδες των συμμετεχόντων και μη δεν υπήρξε στατιστικά σημαντική. Ο φόβος νόσησης COVID-19 επηρέασε ανασταλτικά τη συμμετοχή στην έρευνα. Συμπερασματικά, το δείγμα των μελών Κ.Α.Π.Η. που μετρήθηκε παρουσίαζε ένα θετικό προφίλ ως προς τη ΦΔ, ΠΖ και ΚΣ, παρά τη μειωμένη συμμετοχή σε προγράμματα άσκησης του Κ.Α.Π.Η. Η μακροχρόνια συμμετοχή τους στις δράσεις του Κ.Α.Π.Η. πιθανά συνεισέφερε στην υιοθέτηση ενός πιο ενεργού τρόπου ζωής υποστηρίζοντας την υγιή γήρανση.
