Abstract

The purpose of this study was to check the validity and reliability of the questionnaire "Athletic Competitive Confidence after Rehabilitation by Christakou, Stavrou, Psychountaki and Zervas (2007) for its use in athletes with physical disabilities. The research sample consisted of 241 athletes with physical disabilities, who returned to competitive action after recovering from injury. The statistical analysis performed were: exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and internal coherence analysis. From the exploratory factor analysis resulted factors suggest the manufacturers of the questionnaire and the confirmatory analysis that followed confirmed the structural validity. The results enable the authors to claim that the questionnaire «Athletes' Competitive Confidence after Rehabilitation» presents the necessary structural validity, which makes it a reliable measuring instrument for assessing the competitive self-confidence of athletes with physical disabilities who return to competitive action after an injury.
